Since I wrote entities.pl and I modified it last version (to validate XML and HTML with non-ascii characters), I suppose I should be the one to look at this.

John, I think you can use the old topics.pl with not much ill effects, at least for the day. I'll try to see what I can fix about the entities.

OK. Sorry. I think I broke the entities for Greek because I did not have a chance to test it in Greek. I will find the line that is bothering the Greek, and give you the change for it. Are you sure it is making Chinese?

Take a look, see the article: "test". Test2 and test3 is made with old .pl file

* select greek lang first, because on english lang, all is chinese!

I see the difference, but it is not very easy for me to see it. As they say "it's all Greek to me". : )

I'll try to find something about the entities thing.

This issue was discussed on mlapp, there is a simple solution for it, or rather a simple bug in the script. Will take a closer look into it a.s.a.p

We need to convert our multilangsystem to utf8, this "fix" we have with specific lang characters coding is nonesne, Perl needs the utf-8 the rest it understands itself. There are lots of articles about it in the net.

And to be totaly honest with you, multilang. and Perl is a very wide subject! And I also dont understand everything I read about it. Also note that only Perl versions as old as 2-3 years ago that one started working on the language issues!

The problem was created with the new version 0.9.9.3 .4. With the previous versions I did not have any problem. The problem is somewhere in topics.pl and in entities.pl. I upload the old topics.pl and problem with the articles it was corrected, but when I go to edit an article I have problem and with my old topics.pl. With the version 0.9.9.3 all worked rightly.
