 Posted on: 07/28/06 at 07:22:06

on a member profil i see level 5. The same member on forum say: level 3! Why?

I check accidentally some members and i see 2 levels discrepancy.

on this site?

The levels are counted by the amount of posts one makes... Or can be manually changed...

unless there is a discrepency from the forums display and memberslist...

Do you have any custom hacks running?

Did you ever manually set this member to level 3 or 5? If so, add one blank line to the end of your membergroups.dat file until you will be able to edit this member's profile and make his rank blank. Then it will show his level by his number of posts.

Then let us know if this works.

This is a bug we are fixing in the beta. The fix is to add a blank line to the end of the file.

Also we should make one level checking routine, and remove the umpteen level routines that appear throughout the script. Carter changed the levels number of posts. in 0.9.9.2.x .

It would be good to find out more about this bug. Has anybody been able to figure out what is causing it?

Looks like we have that here too. You are level 3 at the forums, and level 5 at the profile. I will fix this.

Okay, this should fix it John:

For now, find this in sub viewprofile file user.pl:

code:

   $ranking = $memsettings[6]+$memsettings[11]+$memsettings[12];
   if ($ranking > 25) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[3]; }
   if ($ranking > 50) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[4]; }
   if ($ranking > 75) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[5]; }
   if ($ranking > 100) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[6]; }
   if ($ranking > 250) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[7]; }
   if ($ranking > 500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[8]; }
   if ($memsettings[7] ne "") { $memberinfo = $memsettings[7]; }
   if ($memsettings[7] eq $root) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[0]; }

change to this:

code:

   my $memberinfo = $memsettings[7] '';
   if ($memberinfo eq '') {
      my $ranking = $memsettings[6]+$memsettings[11]+$memsettings[12];
      if ($ranking > 1500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[8]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 1000) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[7]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[6]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 250) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[5]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 100) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[4]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 25) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[3]; }
      else { $memberinfo = $membergroups[2]; }
   }

This will be in the bug fixes files before long. This will be the 77th bug fix.

OK, i change this and now the members, moderators and admins Rank is empty. I post a mesage and still the rank is empty. Only when i Edit my Profile, the rank on my profile area say: administrator.

Doesn't exist some way to become this automatically?

I uploaded that fix here, and your profile and mine look okay. We are showing the rank.

Works here, but also you should comment out that line right above. So fix should look like this:

code:

#   $memberinfo = $membergroups[2];

#   $ranking = $memsettings[6]+$memsettings[11]+$memsettings[12];
#   if ($ranking > 25) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[3]; }
#   if ($ranking > 50) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[4]; }
#   if ($ranking > 75) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[5]; }
#   if ($ranking > 100) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[6]; }
#   if ($ranking > 250) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[7]; }
#   if ($ranking > 500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[8]; }
#   if ($memsettings[7] ne "") { $memberinfo = $memsettings[7]; }
#   if ($memsettings[7] eq $root) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[0]; }
   my $memberinfo = $memsettings[7] '';
   if ($memberinfo eq '') {
      my $ranking = $memsettings[6]+$memsettings[11]+$memsettings[12];
      if ($ranking > 1500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[8]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 1000) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[7]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 500) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[6]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 250) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[5]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 100) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[4]; }
      elsif ($ranking > 25) { $memberinfo = $membergroups[3]; }
      else { $memberinfo = $membergroups[2]; }
   }

Also the link you click in the menu to look at your profile will take you to a page that is wrong, because sub myprofile is wrong.

All of that is a mess and needs to be rewritten, but also there is some security work to do there.

But that fix I gave you is for the link when you view someone else's profile - action=viewprofile. action=editprofile page is still broken.
