Fix:
cnf_integration_fix_04032008. ------------------------------------------------ Date: 03.03.2008 Issue: missing routine for integration of guests configuration. Discovered: by Andy (Floyd). Impact: may cause server errors as well as annoyance when attempting to change some site settings with regards to non members preferences. --------------------------------------- Instructions: 1.) Open the file Guest.cnf 2.) If needed (and ONLY if needed) change the settings to reflect your site settings. 3.) Upload the entire folder and overwrite the old file. Please note: this is NOT the final fix for the issue, the final fix would be released with the March update. It may also be helpful to point out that you need to set up your time offset and timezone correctly. In the admin section, under the display options are these settings. There is a helpful guide that shows the current date/time for the server. If your server is situated in another timezone, use the offset and the timezone controls to set this time to the correct time for your site. Essentially, set the timezone first, then use the offset to fine tune the display. So, if your server is 5 hours behind, the offset should be set to +5, if it is 3 hours ahead, set it to -3. It won't change any files (forums, articles, etc) that have allready been written, but it will affect any written afterwards.
I hope this helps too! |
