I am getting a 500 error when trying to log out. I get the message and when hitting the back button I am still logged in. Ant ideas?

Here (v.2.0 pre alpha) or where?
What browser do you use? Have you upgraded it recently?

Do this:
1.) Delete all temp files including cookies.
2.) Close your browser windows, in firefox and explorer 8, do not restart old browser windows.
The issue should disappear.

What was the cause for it? I need more details to diagnose the issue, did you have the problem on a fresh install? Do you have other sites installed on the same domain that may cause a cookies conflict? Has the issue disappeared when you reinstalled?

The usually cause for the 500 cookies error is a security function that is there to prevent attempts to poison a user cookies by a remote user, it usually does not provide error message but simply kill the entire process with die();  however when this happens the event is logged in 2 files:
cgi-bin/db/cookies/fake_cookies1.log
cgi-bin/db/cookies/fake_cookies2.log

These two files can only be open wit a notepad for security reasons and contain complete information.

Well.... then what we have here is a corrupt install or hacked version, because any login error should be recorded there.
