Hi Guys,
I want to first say that it's good seeing all the changes. Congratulations on a job well done. I want to show a slideshow of family photos in the left block, and am using album.pl by Mike Bobbett to generate that slideshow. The prefered method of doing this is via the iframe tag, or a SSI virtual include. I know there used to be a work around in the older version, but remember the discussion on it createing a security leak. So am I out of luck on this? Of course I've already tried to do it, so know it doesn't play nice. I tried using the block editor to enter the info, but when I tried to save it I got a 403 and 401 error. When I edited the file on my hard drive, and then upload it, it seems to show the slide show in the left block, but cuts everything else off. You can see it chipandrita.com to see what I'm refering to. So again, am I out of luck on this, or does WA's gallery support slideshos now, and if so is there's a way to bring them in to one of the block sections? My generic signature... |

Hi Chip!
Can you please zip the file and upload it here, please also disable it in your sites, there are some major security issues related to old mods. Hi On,
I'm sorry? I don't understand what it is that you are wanting me to zip and upload. You'll have to excuse me, it early, and I'm only on my first cup of coffee. I'm not using an old mod. album.pl is a stand alone photo album script, and not a WA mod. That's the reason I'm trying to call it in via an iframe. However, and I mean no offense to Flloyd, It sure would make a great mod for WA, but I digress. Are you wanting me to zip and upload my lefblock code, or the album.pl package? Yes! ![]() Can try integrating as a mod if this is what you want. [user:On] on@web-app.net GC/CS/E/H/IT/L/M/MU/PA/P/S/SS/TW/O d(+++)>+ s: a+>++>+++$ C++++$ UBAHS*++++$ P+++++(--)$ L !E? Well sure. I also thought it would make a cool mod anyway.

Wooow!!
Haven't seen this for years! This is one of those classical scripts for the ultimate UBB (the script is from 2004?), did you know that webapp is originally based on those scripts too? Have you tried the updated album (updated recently!): album. Or is it the same?

wow! is right. I love the old school stuff and this is a great example. It's most beautiful.
I'm overwhelmed with joyous nostalgia and crying while I write this. 0 but true |

Wow, no I didn't, or maybe I had heard that, but didn't connect it. It is indeed the very same. I love this script, and have been using it for years. It is just so easy to use and configure. You don't have to upload photos individually in to the script. Upload a entire folder, or folders, and the script does the rest. Not to mention the versital ways you can call it. I have always thought it would make a very cool mod for WA. Back when I was using WA for my sites, I'd use it, for my personal and family public gallery, instead of the gallery mod. and then let the other members just use the gallery mod for their photos. It can do a neat thumbnail slideshow feature via either an ifram of virtual call, which is what I was wanting to use in my left block.

...interesting though, as I too were looking for something like that..Can I assume, if I place all the files in the "same folder" as given, at my web site, and put the name of my domain name in the "http://dev.bobbitt.ca/cgi-bin/album.pl ", this will work automatically? Or are there any other traps, hints or whatsoever which I should know in advance? Where do I place the Photo_Album.css ? Where I should place the folder "Album" at my web site? Thanks. I have about 20,000 such cgi plugins and scripts collection, once Andy ([[floyd]]), starts the plugin site, I would upload them there.
Otherwise, it should not be too complicated to convert this script to a webapp plugin, it does however require conversion of the username routine as well as some security checkups when it comes to the uploader.
